Bantwal: Police arrest suspect of communal clashes after 12 years

Bantwal, Sep 26: Bantwal town police on Monday September 26 , arrested a suspect  at Panemangaluru market, who is wanted in an old communal clashes case. 

Umar Farooq (41) from Banglegudde Panemangaluru is the person arrested. 

Umar Farooq was identified as a suspect in communal clashes near Panemangaluru Sharada School in 2004. He had fled after the incident and it is said that he had later gone abroad for job.  He had returned to home town recently. Bantwal station sub-inspector Nanda Kumar and his team who got information of his arrival arrested him.

Police staff Adram, Rajesh, Kareem, Lokesh and jeep driver Sampath participated in the operation. 

Umar Farooq was later produced in the court.
