Addressing the gathering, Rai said, "This is the second time we are organizing Jana Mana programme here. Chief minister Siddaramaiah implemented Anna Bhagya scheme to make Karnataka hunger free. I am happy to say that this has been appreciated by people and has reached the beneficiaries. Kshira Bhagya was started to increase the nutritional intake of Anganavadi children, where children are being given milk at Anganavadi. This has helped in the overall growth of children. Then loans of minority board, the backward community development board and many other boards were waived. Under Asha Jyothi scheme, the pending amounts of electricity connections were waived, farmers’ loans were waived and made people loan free."

"The interest-free loan amount to farmers has been increased to Rs 3 lac. For the poor students, the number of hostels has grown and under the Vidya Siri scheme, a stipend of Rs 1500 has been given to the students who pursue higher education. Under this plan, about Rs 100 crore has reached the beneficiaries of our district alone. Harish Santwana scheme has been availed by many. Manaswini programme for unmarried women who are above 40 years and divorced women, Maithri programme for transgenders, Kandaya Adalat, pension Adalat, 94c to give title deed to people who have built a house on government land and in the city, have been implemented. Under the 94 C , maximum applications of 59,000 applications, have been received."

"There were many mistakes in the ration card, and there was a notion that this cannot be corrected at all. But after the Siddaramaiah government came to power, we have corrected them and have been successful in this. BPL card is also being sanctioned. Our district, to a great extent, has managed to implement maximum government schemes. Mangaluru is in the number one position in defecation free city in the nation. Our district has won an award in Nirmala Grama. We have worked our best in implementing all the government schemes."
