Cauvery Issue: SC pulls up Karnataka, orders it to release water

New Delhi, Sep 30 (PTI/Agencies): The Supreme Court on Friday pulled up Karnataka for its defiant stand on releasing Cauvery river water to Tamil Nadu and ordered it to release 6000 cusecs of water between October 1 and October 6.

The apex court stated that Karnataka is flouting orders and creating a situation where the majesty of law is being dented. Wrath of law will fall upon Karnataka in case of any further defiance of Cauvery order the SC warned.

It also asked the Centre to set up the Cauvery Water Management Board by October 4, while directing Karnataka, TN, Kerala, Puducherry to give names of members for the board by tomorrow.

If Siddu defies Supreme Court Order again, then if he gets his govt., suspended while BJP at center will release water & face the wrath of people of Karnataka & will get booted out of Karnataka, while Congress will return back to power in next election.
If contrary steps are taken Siddu can last full 5 years but in next election his chances are bleak for state/

Supreme Court is a independent body, sleeping cm gave a affidavit based on which this order its a failure of Congress primarily, BJP doing a wait and watch with no major risk as Centre is bound to obey Supreme court in case of inter state disputes, only gainer is JDS, i m pretty sure JDS with BJP willl form the next government. Again kumaranna CM, yeddy wont get his chance yet again.

It was a big mistake by siddhu to release 15000 cusecs water earlier.
He could have saved all the water.

Now their crop is half success and half failure.

Otherwise their crop would have been total failure

@Jeevan Considering the interest your people showing its clear that their dream is re-election. Their dream is if siddu dont follow SC guidelines siddu government may fall. Then your party can fight for election and may win.. I cannot see anywhere your party is showing any interest in resolving this at the interest of state. Somewhere dirty politics being played at the cost of states future. Again the voters are closely monitoring all these developments..

No use blaming supreme court. Ktaka has lost to a very smart & proactive opponent. Jaya had good leadeship acumen involved all concerned rite from the start. He even invited the central to TN to take stock of the situation. Siddu ran behind bhagyas, jayanthis and minorities boycotted PM invite for talks. So this is what he is reaping today.

Mr Jeevan your ideas seems to be childish. Don't try to boil the food on a burning house. As it is said by Mr Godwin there must be a study of the ground reality and Supreme Court has ordered for it. Let us wait. As case is in the court we better maintain peace and work to keep our city clean, awareness to protect water save water and protect our mother earth.

My humble request to SC,as a law abiding citizen, before you stand still and aggressive on your verdict, please hear the grievances of general public of Karnataka and the hardships they have gone thru last year, just to get water for drinking and sanitation and this situation is going to be repeated...therefore Do not Order to release the Cavery Water, until and unless you study the case of water crises in Karnataka.

    Jeevan,
Mr. Siddaramahaih has kept his words of not releasing the water but the SC is being adamant and how come that becomes a lapse of state government and how can you call it as failure to safe guard the interest of the farmers. You have never commented on TN CM nor you have commented on any other leader. You have a syndrome which is called as Congress syndrome and i dont think you will ever recover.

When Modi Government took action against Pakistan our opposition parties i.e. Congress , NCP etc praised Modi and all parties united with BJP, but in Karnataka Kaveri issue our BJP leaders were playing politics that if Karnataka wins by not giving water than they will have point to show during the next election that they got justice to Karnataka people by not releasing water, So BJP leaders did not unite with the present Karnataka Government. Ultimately this BJP and Congress politics gave pain to Karnataka public.
