Daijiworld Media Network- Mumbai (RJP)

Mumbai, Sep 30: Renowned Konkani composer and singer Victor Concessao breathed his last on Friday, September 30 in Andheri here.

He was 65. He is survived by wife and two daughters.

Originally hailing from Derebail in Mangaluru city, he was resident of Mumbai for several years.

He was known for his youth centric Konkani songs. He also played music for dramas.

'Niskollpon' , 'Bharathanth Sukhi Konn' 'Bombil Mary', 'Mother Theresa', 'Buinkamp' were some of his all time hits.

During his heydays, he sang for Konakni Natak Sabha competitions and won trophies for Rosario Cathedral parish where he stayed then.

He had composed nearly 1200 songs and took part in more than 90 concerts starting from the first musical nite presented by Benar Productions in 1982.  He had sung for famous Konkani film 'Thisri Cheet'. Recently he had composed a song for super hit Konkani film 'Noshibacho Khell'.

‘Sangeeth Ratna’ title was bestowed on him for his contribution to Konkani music.

'Namma Kudladha Ooruye' is one of his famous unforgettable Tulu songs sung in functions.

Funeral will be held on Monday, October 3 at Sacred Heart Church, Mahakali, Andheri (East) in Mumbai at 4pm, said family sources.

Victorab, will be missed. I was fortunate to sing in his four nites around Mangalore. He is a simple man, gifted composer and supported new talents. One of his great composition and my favorite one was "Varyar ubcha parvya, sandesh mujho kanghe, tujelagin dithan tho mogak patay" sung by his sister Lizzy, also a song "Ami Bhav Bhaini" Unfortunately I could not meet him again. I'm deeply saddened by this news. My deep condolences to Gracybai, Vivet and Velita. The fond memmories and the love showed by Victorab and team (Gracy bai, Lizzy, Lola, Babush,Sukreen, Theo) will remain forever. Victorab parat zalmon ye!!

I know Victor fondly called Vitori since my childhood days . At young age he was instrumental in forming beat group by binding friend like musicians ... Some of his foot tapping numbers like kudla Dha ooruye, sobith jacintha, fotkiro mog, bombil Mary sung by Kenny are few to mention from his treasures are still famous and played for social gatherings ...he was instant composers who had a talent to compose the songs situation related .....RIP friend ... We will meet again on final resurrection ... Until that please pray for us

LOVING GOD, we don’t always understand your timing, but we trust that you are good. We know that you hold us in your hands and wrap your love around us when we we are sad. We are sad today, Lord.

O Lord, Jesus Christ, Redeemer and Savior, forgive our brother-in-Law's sins, just as You forgave Peter's denial and those who crucified You. Count not Victor's transgressions, but, rather, his family members tears of repentance. Remember not Victor's iniquities, but, more especially, sorrow for the offenses have committed against You. We long to be true to Your Word, and pray that You will love Victor and come to make Your dwelling place within him. We promise to give You praise and glory in love and in service all the days of my life. May his soul rest in Peace.

Comfort us with your presence. Grant us peace in our hearts. Fill our minds with good memories of the one we love.

You are the great Healer, and we ask you to heal our hearts today and wipe the tears from our eyes to see the hope you have set before us. Amen.
