Kuwait, Sep 30: Billava Sangha, Kuwait organized the Billava Chavadi-2016, an event open to all, on September 23, at the Cambridge School Auditorium in Mangaf, Kuwait. It was a grand success with a houseful show.

The most awaited 'Dina Deetiji' comedy Tulu drama, started with a bang and left the audience rib-tickled for the next 3 hours.

The outstanding acting, comedy punches, timing of the actors and the well written story were the highlights of the day. The drama ran a houseful show from the beginning to the end, a proof that the audience loved the drama all through.

It was a well written piece by an eminent drama writer, Rakesh BC Road, directed by Satish Acharya and Praveen Kotian Koddakal. The celebrated musicians Nellu Permannur and Purander Manchi provided the music for the drama. The drama cast some of the most admired and loved local artistes, Lucy Lobo Aranha, Johnson D’Almeida, Satish Acharya, Praveen Kotian Koddakal, Purander Manchi, Manoj Bangera, Amarnath Suvarna, Jyothi Sudhir Suvarna, Krishna Poojary, Kavya Prashanth, Mithun Vishwanath and Sujith Kotian.

The drama was preceded by the cultural events and felicitations, where the program commenced with the prayer by Kavya Prashanth. The ceremonial lamp was lit by the chief guest - Rajashekar Kotian; the guest of honour - A K Srivastava, second secretary for press, Information and Culture of the Embassy of Kuwait India; Sajeev Narayan the general Secretary of Saradhi Kuwait; and the Management Committee of Billava Sangha Kuwait.

It was followed by a release of the Souvenir 'Billava Bolpu' by the chief guest of the event. The president of BSK, Chitrek Bangera thereafter welcomed the audience which was followed by a welcome Bharatanatyam performance by Niveditha Reddy.

The BSK budding talents then entertained the audience with a Brahma Shree Narayan Guru dance to celebrate his 162 birth anniversary, a Bollywood dance by the dance group Rock Star and a Pili Vesha (tiger dance) by little twin talents followed.

The guest artists, Rakesh BC Road, Nellu Permannur and Manoj Bangera who came all the way from Mangaluru, were honoured with a memento by the Chief Guest. It was followed by the felicitation of the Sponsors of the event, Gold Sponsor – Bharat Bank, Silver Sponsors – Khalil Bhaman & partners, Alghanim Fencing Industries Co, Al Qattan AC and Refrigeration Co, VK Rupa Harish and Family, Pacific International and BEC.

The Chief Guest for the event Raj Shekar Kotian – producer, director, actor and Karnataka Movie Award recipient was on his first visit to the state of Kuwait and during his address to the audience, humbly said that he was very impressed to meet people of Tulunadu in Kuwait under one

roof and said that we must stay united under all circumstances. He also mentioned that he was very happy to know that people from all income groups donated their hard earned money to support the charity and scholarship needs of the deprived people back home in Mangalore. He was honoured by the president, vice president and the second secretary with a shawl, garland, memento and a basket of fruits.

Satish Kunder, the head of the scholarship program, briefed the audience about the scholarship event that was held on the 28th August 2016 in Shree Gokarnanatha Kshetra, Kudroli, Mangalore, in association with Shree Guru Charitable Trust, Suratkal. Hemanth Suvarna and Ashwitha Surendra Poojary kept the audience mesmerized with their soulful voices.

The event was well coordinated by the cultural secretary, Mithun Vishwanath, while the event was hosted in poise and style by Ashwitha Surendra Poojary, the vote of thanks was given by the general secretary, Sushma Bangera. The sound and lighting was done by Zain Events, while photography and videography was by Moon Media.

BSK Management committee thanks its sponsors, well-wishers, committee members, non-committee members and everyone for their contribution towards the grand success of 'Billava Chavadi 2016'.

Satish Shivappa Poojary, editor and film producer from Mumbai and Harish Bhandary, president of Tulu Koota, Kuwait were present in the audience as distinguished guests of the evening.
