Mangaluru: Licence to be cancelled if sand miners violate rules – DC

Mangaluru, Oct 2: “425 sand mining contractors have been allowed to do conditional sand mining. They have been asked to strictly follow the rules. Their licences will be cancelled if rules are violated,” said Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Dakshina Kannada district, Dr K G Jagadish, on Saturday October 1. .

“Cameras will be installed in the places of sand mining and those will be connected to the office of DC. Lorries have been asked to fix Global Positioning System (GPS). Nodal officers are appointed at the rate of one officer for every nine sand hillocks.” he added.

The district administration allowed conditional sand mining from September 30.

    Sounds very nice to hear but not believable. How many wine shop licenses cancelled till date for serving liquor openly ? Only bars can serve liquor. But most public not bothered, so show will go on as usual
