Mangalore: Karnataka Missions Network Condemns Attack on Prayer Group

Mangalore, Dec 23: 'The attack on Sunday morning on a group of children while rehearsing for dances and songs for the forthcoming Christmas feast is certainly a brutal act and the police should take action against the miscreants who were involved in it,' demanded Donald P Menezes, president of the Karnataka Missions Network.
Speaking at a press conference organized at Alfa Centre in Kankanady on Sunday, December 23, he said that about 250 people were engaged in the prayer here. A group of about 25 persons attacked the children and youth here. They also damaged tubelights, fans and chairs here. The silence and peace loving nature of the Christians has been abused by the miscreants, he opined.
The End Time Full Gospel Church is not involved in any activities of religious conversion. It is only conducting prayers for like-minded people, he explained.
“Let us forget the religious angle of the issue. What is inhuman is that they have attacked the innocent children," he added.
One of the miscreants has already been handed over to the police. Meanwhile, the registration numbers of the vehicles which were used by the miscreants have been noted down and passed on to the police. Therefore, the Missions Network is confident that the police would soon arrest the miscreants, Menezes added.
At the same time, the children who were the targets of this attack also narrated the incident to the mediapersons.
Following the attack, police security has been provided at the spot.
