Bengaluru: 'RSS not engaged in brainwashing activists' - Kalladka Prabhakar Bhat

Daijiworld Media Network - Bengaluru (SP)

Bengaluru, Oct 3: Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) south zone executive member, Dr Kalladka Prabhakar Bhat, asserted that those who join the organization as activists need not be apprehensive, as RSS does not engage in imposing its ideologies and brainwashing its cadres.

He was speaking after releasing a book in Kannada, 'Rashtriya Punaruthana Bilalu-Holahu' authored by senior RSS functionary, Ka Sri Nagaraj. This function was held at 'Keshava Kripa', RSS headquarters in the city, on Sunday October 2.

"Some people keep claiming that those who join RSS undergo indoctrination to make them accept RSS ideologies and principles without questioning. There are those who swear that RSS activists begin to openly declare themselves as staunch Hindus within two months of joining it. A child does not need to be taught to address its mother as mom. Her affection, sacrifice, and care makes the child to address her so. RSS conducts 'Baithaks' on four days in a week, 'Boudhik' on one day, and rendering of songs and prayers on the other two days. There is nothing wrong if a Hindu claims himself to be so. There is no element of brainwashing in it," he added.

He recalled that former Prime Minister, the late Jawaharlal Nehru, had passed a resolution at the Congress convention held in 1929 to get independence for united India. As per the call given by Nehru, Dr Keshav Baliram Hedagewar, who founded RSS, had celebrated 'independence for united India in thousands of branches of RSS in the country, he said.

"Hedagewar was jailed twice for his participation in freedom movement. 43,000 RSS activists had courted arrest by taking part in non-cooperation movement, salt Satyagraha, and Quit India movement. In the fight against imposition of emergency, 73,000 RSS workers were jailed. Many who are unaware of RSS role in freedom movement, keep claiming that RSS had no role in ensuring that the country got free of its shackles," Bhat explained.

Columnist, Dr Na Someshwar, author, Ka Sri Nagaraj, additional director general of southern zone of Doordarshan Kendra, Dr Mahesh Joshi, were present.

One live example of 'brainwash' is late K.S.Sudarshan the fifth Sarsanghachalak of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), a Hindu nationalist organisation.

He himself suffering from dementia in his old days and found wondering in Mysore streets in his last days.

Let's Bhat gave us one example from his RSS who fought for India's freedom struggle behind Mahatma Gandhi and get martyred for nation.

Ayyo anna, please come out of Kalladka once in a life time and see how beautiful the world is. Go to Bahrain, Dubai, Oman and see how people are free to eat what they want, dress as they wish and practice their religion without any kiri kiri from any 'thundu raja'. Limited knowledge is not only dangerous, but, also harmful to the society. Just live and let live. If you can not do anything good to society, at least stop doing bad also. Jai Hind, Jai namma Karnataka.

Ha ha @ Mr. C murthy and RSS INdia is a secular country for all religions and will remain the same forever. dont worry these children when they see and hear you are not helping type only preaching they themselves will automatically leave, only brainwashed will remain.

Unless you want to change the constitution and make it communist country like china russia or communal like Pakistan, which world over it is evident the fate of Pakistan China is indirectly ruling it.

Numbers of kids joining RSS is increasing by the day in the entire nation. Reason is not difficult to fathom. It is security of future generations which cannot be ensured by governments of the day because of their pseudo-secularist/appeasement/vote bank politics. RSS being a cultural institution is not only seen as protectionist but also inculcating nationalism among the young. Continuous efforts are made to malign RSS as a communal organization, but RSS will only grow stronger because of people's insecurity in future. If Kerala and W.Bengal are any indications to go by, there is good reason for people to be worried about their grandchildren in next 50 years.

Improve the quality, marketing ,incentives of your religion which has got some very good core values. What you are following is not the original Sanatana dharma. Now it is full of politics, discrimination and rituals. Sooner or later people will succumb to the imported products unless there is something truly made in India quality products.

Original ideas of any religion is subject to change according to time and convenience.
The caste system, sathi, untouchability etc are slowly vanishing from Hindu culture. Same is the case with Christianity. The present Pope is accepting transgenders, second marriages and abortions in case of medical complications.
We have in front of our eyes what happens when people stick to absurdities in original scriptures of the religion!

Educated & secular thinking responsible and noble hindustani parents can take well informed/ understood wisdom full decisions on their own..,

There is no need for an eminent RSS functionary like Dr KP Bhat to preach to clear such apprehension.

If i am not mistaken, without prejudice, the language used by few members belonged or aligned to self proclaimed patriotic organisation itself provide enough proof & reason as to whether to believe & rely on Dr KP Bhat's statement.

It makes me an age old adage to recall - "There is no smoke without fire"
