Beltangady: India Today Safaigiri awards - Dharmasthala adjudged cleanest religious town

Beltangady, Oct 3: A function was held at New Delhi on Sunday October 2 for presenting awards under various categories asper survey conducted by India Today periodical on thebasis of cleanliness, hygiene, andother parameters.

Awards were given under 14 categories, duly ranking by union minister forurban development, Venkaiah Naidu. This was the second edition of 'Safaigiri' awards basedon pioneering initiatives towards cleanliness andsanitation.

Dharmasthala in the taluk has been adjudged the cleanest religious town inthesurvey. Onbehalf of Dharmasthala Dharmadhikari, Dr D Veerendra Heggade, his brother, D Harshendra Kumar, collected the award from Venkaiah Naidu in the presence of actress, Aishwarya Rai.
