Mangalore, Dec 24: DC Maheshwar Rao on Sunday said Kadri Park beautification plan will be implemented within four months.

Inaugurating a children’s painting competition organized by the Syndicate bank at the Kadri Park here, Rao said a lot of work had to be done to make the park truly a children’s park.

Calling upon the organizations to hold such competitions for children frequently, Rao said the public must give their suggestions to beautify the park.

The competition received an overwhelming response with 2,317 children vying for honours.
K U Shanbhag, deputy general manager of the bank, said they had received over 2,500 nominations.

The competition was held under three categories: up to six years, 6-13 years and 13-16 years. Prizes will be given to 10 winners in each category.

Shanbhag said the results would take some time due to the huge response. However, participation certificates will be given to the contestants within a week at the respective branches where the registration was done.
