Nobody recognised Sivakarthikeyan in nurse's character: Director

Chennai, Oct 4 (IANS): Debutant director Bakkiyaraj Kannan says nobody outside the team of upcoming Tamil romantic comedy "Remo", which features Sivakarthikeyan in the lead, could recognise the actor in the disguise of a nurse.

"Nobody outside our team could recognize Siva in the disguise of a nurse. When we told them it was Siva, they didn't believe us. When we were shooting in Vishakhapatnam, an onlooker asked who the actress playing the nurse was, and when we told him it was Anushka's sister, he believed it," Kannan told IANS.

For nearly 60 per cent of the film, Sivakarthikeyan will be seen playing a nurse.

Kannan is all praise for the "Maan Karate" actor.

"No actor in his shoes could have pulled off this role. It takes a lot of patience to even sit through the make-up session for this role and Siva never complained. He lost about 9 to 10 kg to play the nurse's part," he said.

Given a chance to work with Sivakarthikeyan again, Kannan says he would be obliged.

"He's a terrific actor and is very friendly. I would love to work with him again," he added.

Produced by RD Raja, the film is slated for worldwide release on Friday. It also stars Keerthy Suresh and Sathish.
