Rajkot: Trader Seeks Rs 21 Crore from Mallya

Rajkot, Dec 27: Rajkot businessman and director of Urok International, Subhash Shihora, has sent a legal notice to the management of Deccan Aviation Pvt Ltd and demanded from the airlines more than Rs 21 crore in reparation. 

The notice, sent by Shihora's lawyer B S Khatana, is addressed to the executive chairman of the airlines, Captain G R Gopinath, its chief executive officer Ramkisundaram, and the company vice-chairman Vijay Mallya.

Though neither Shihora nor his lawyer was available for comment on the development, the DNA had managed to get a copy of the legal notice sent to the Deccan Group. The notice gives details of the 'harassment' that Sihora, his wife, their two daughters and 5-month-old son had allegedly suffered because of the 'callousness' of Deccan Aviation authorities.

After narrating how Shihora, his wife and children had allegedly suffered at the hands of the airlines authorities, the notice slaps a claim of more than Rs 21 crore on the Deccan Group.

The notice demands that the airline pay Shihora Rs 490.49 for the telephonic expenses incurred by the couple, Rs 5,000 for the rent of the taxi hired in New Delhi, Rs 200 towards luggage porting charges, Rs 32,000 towards extra travel expenses incurred by the family to reach Bangalore for a function, Rs 8 lakh as reparation for the mental harassment suffered by Mrs Shihora, Rs 80 lakh as reparation for the mental harassment suffered by Subhash Shihora, Rs 20 crore as payment for the business loss suffered by Subhash Shihora who had to cancel a business meeting because of Deccan Aviation's 'negligence' and Rs 50,000 towards legal fees.

    Great, People should know their rights in today's world otherwise many are in the market to harass after taking the payments from the public.
    Consumer service and Consumer Law must be strong and should be in favor of the Public not the cheaters.
