Vijayapura, Oct 10: After the tyre of a Mahindra Scorpio vehicle that was on the move suddently burst, four persons including an infant died. The incident occurred at Muttagi Cross of Basavana Bagewadi taluk in the district on the night of Sunday October 9.
While one of the occupants of the vehicle died on the spot, three others including a two-month-old child died on the way to hospital. The deceased were Rajna Shariff (15) from Kalaburagi, who died on the spot, Afsan Noorin (28), Muhammed Abdul (25) and the child, Isha Siddique. The condition of the other occupant, Ijan Shaff (18), who survived the accident, is critical, informed district superintendent of police, S N Siddaramappa.
The deceased were going to visit Almatti dam and musical fountain there, when the accident occurred. When the tyre suddenly burst, the driver lost control over the vehicle, the SP added.
