Kasargod: Youth trying to catch running cow falls in lake, dies

Kasargod, Oct 11: A youth who ran after his cow that had escaped with the rope tied to it, fell into a lake after losing his balance and died of drowning in it.

The incident has occurred in Sonkal, near Uppala on Monday night, October 10. The deceased is identified Ameer alias Anwar (35), a  resident of Sonkal .  The cow had run along with the rope when Anwar was bringing it back to the cow shed on his farm.  The incident occurred when he ran after it to catch it.

Locals and the fire brigade staff from Uppala, lifted him from water and took him to the hospital, but his life could not be saved.

The dead body has been kept in Mangalpady community health centre.

The Manjeshwar police have registered a  case on the same.
