Tanieya Khanuja dedicates new line to mothers, sisters

New Delhi, Oct 12 (IANS): For the Amazon India Fashion Week Spring Summer 2017, designer Tanieya Khanuja has worked on a collection titled The Bridge, which aims to promote the idea of how a woman can be helped by mothers, sisters and girlfriends to walk through tough times with confidence.

The designer will be showcasing her collection on Saturday at the NSIC Grounds here.

"Awareness of the self and sexuality can be nerve wracking experience while growing up. But living in today's technological age, arming your daughter with accurate and ample information is imperative. This season my collection talks about The Bridge we need to walk together and there cannot be any better platform than Amazon India Fashion Week to spread the awareness," Khanuja said in a statement.

The designer introspects on the way mothers, sisters and girlfriends can help each other walk the bridge across tumultuous waters and come to the understanding that the sooner we arm the girl child with the right information, the better it may help her understand the changes in her body without losing confidence in the process.

Khanuja has used a wide array of colours including reds, lavenders, flesh pinks and deep blues.

According to the statement, her designs and silhouettes evoke the complexities of the rites of passage for a girl.
