Puttur: Ganja peddler nabbed after a month in Income Tax Officer uniform

Puttur, Oct 13: A special team of police personnel arrested a ganja peddler wearing the uniform of an Income Tax Officer on Wednesday, October 12 at Darbe here. The accused was wearing the uniform to hide his identity, it is said.

Vinay alias Vinay Kumar (33) from Tahrigudde is the person arrested.

On September 11, police under the guidance of superintendent of police (SP) Gulabrao Bhushan Borase had arrested Tharanath Poojary (20) and Abdul Hamid (40) when they were selling ganja in an auto rickshaw. They had also seized 1800 kilograms of ganja, auto rickshaw worth Rs 1 lac, 2 mobile phones and Rs 8000 cash. But Vinay Kumar and Ibrahim from Salmara managed to flee from the spot.

While police failed to locate them for a month, on Wednesday October 12, they received a credible information that Vinay Kumar was moving in the area with an uniform of government officer. Police who acted immediately, managed to apprehend Vinay Kumar. Now hunt id on fro Ibrahim.

    It's ok having few pints of beer or some alcohol & 3-5 Cigarettes. (all with in limit). I cannot distance them because I am habituated but would not say addicted. (consoling myself)
    Life comes only once. I have tried number of times but can not distance from born habits. (confession)

    Nothing like original.
    Addiction to drugs, alcoholic spoiling some youth from time memorial. Once addicted very difficult to come out of the taste & the bad habit. How many youngsters have spoiled their life and how many are engaged in such killer habit. I had seen so many those days being addicted to drugs or alcohol and perished.

    Ganja is not addictive unlike nicotine and alcohol.
    Even nicotine and alcohol are not addictive if you have a strong will power.
    On Saturday evenings, it is nice to sit on the open terrace of London Street and have a beer and their cheesy crabs. do not know whether I am addicted to beer or cheesy crabs, coz i order both everytime!
