Koppal, Oct 13: A person, who was frustrated at the fact that his lover of many years had decided to marry another youth, committed suicide by consuming poison in front of her home on Monday. The youth also video graphed the entire development and sent the video clip to his sister over phone.

The deceased happened to be Kiran Kumar (29), who was from Kalgudi, Jeerala, in Gangavathi taluk in the district. He was in love with a 24-year-old girl from Munirabad in Koppal taluk since the last three years. They were distant relatives too. Kiran Kumar, an engineering graduate, was working as designer for a private animation company at Hubballi. The girl is pursuing her BE degree in a private college at Hubballi, and the couple were in a live-in relationship.

The parents of the girl, after coming to know about the love life of the girl, had prepared to marry her to another person. Kiran Kumar, who came to know about this development, came to Munirabad and requested the girl to marry him. The mother of the girl curtly turned down his request, it is learnt. The girl, in the presence of her mother, too rejected his overtures. This, it is said, caused lot of anguish in the youth.

In the video clip lasting a little over four minutes, Kiran explained about the frustration he felt over his love life gone awry. Before dying, he sent a clipping of the video to his elder sister. The youth, who fell seriously ill after consuming poison in front of his lover's house, died when being taken to Vijayanagara Institute of Medical Sciences, Ballari.

It is said that the family members of the youth, who were overtaken by emotions at the sudden demise of the youth, had failed to notice the video clipping. They went through it after the funeral of the youth on October 11 and got to know what had gone wrong in his life.
