Mumbai, Oct 13 (Agencies) : In a moving message, Shilpa Shetty bid a final goodbye to her father Surendra Shetty who passed away on Tuesday. She wrote that their family chain is broken with his death.

Shilpa Shetty bid her father, Surendra Shetty, a moving goodbye in a message on her Instagram account on Wednesday. Surendra Shetty died on Tuesday in Mumbai after a massive cardiac arrest.

Taking to Instagram, the Bollywood star wrote, “OUR HERO: Loving and kind in all his ways, Upright and just to the end of his days; Sincere and true, in his heart and mind, Beautiful memories, he left behind. A link in our family chain is broken, He has gone from our home, But not from our hearts. We love u Daddy, you have been the best father, husband, friend and soul. May you Rest in Peace. Shri Surendra Dejoo Shetty 22 Dec 1941-11 Oct 2016. With gratitude Sunanda, Shamita, Shilpa ,Raj ,Viaan-Raj The Shetty and Kundra Family.” She also posted a picture of her father with the message.

Surendra died in his sleep on Tuesday and was declared brought dead at Kokilaben Ambani Hospital. He was a businessman.

Very close to both his daughters, Shilpa and Shamita, he was full of life and was often spotted with Shilpa’s mother at chosen social dos. He was a big influence on his daughters’ life and both were seen inconsolable at the funeral on Wednesday.

Bollywood celebs and friends of the Shettys paid their last respect at the cremation. Akshay Kumar, Abhishek Bachchan, Salim Khan, Arpita Khan, Vashu Bhagnani, Raveena Tandon, Harman Baweja and Sophie Choudry were just some of the people who were seen visiting Shilpa after the sad news.

Speaking about her father earlier, Shilpa had said, “I’ve seen both my parents work really hard and my dad used to do the house’s laundry. When we were young, the washing machine was just introduced, so I remember my dad waiting for the weekend only to help my mother do the laundry.”
