Udupi: Cyclist loses life in accident involving car

Udupi, Oct 14: A bicycle-borne man was killed near Vidyaniketan school at Kaup in the district on Thursday October 13 in an accident.

Manjappa (45), a native of Belagavi, who was presently residing at Koppalangady near Kaup, was crossing the highway on his bicycle near the diversion of the highway at Kaup when the accident occurred. A car that was moving towards Mangaluru from the direction of the city hit Manjunath. He has been severely injured.

Police officers from Kaup said that the pedestrian died on the way to the hospital at Udupi. A case stands registered, and  the investigation has been undertaken, they added.
