Udupi: Kids enjoy JCI Kallianpur organized 'Raja Rani' contest

Udupi, Oct 14: Children of various age groups showcased their talents at the ‘JC Raja Rani’ contest of ‘JC Sapthaha 2016’ programme conducted on Thursday October 13 at the JC platform near Prabhu Enterprises, Santhekatte, Kallianpur.

Udupi district in-charge minister Pramod Madhwaraj inaugurated the programme organized by JCI Kallianpur, zone XV, region ‘B’. 

 

 

 

 

On being honoured by one of the members Madhwaraj said, "I have come for the 14th celebration as minister of Udupi. It is a joyous occasion. JCI develops leadership skills in youth and promotes social service which is a requirement nowadays. JC has performed many noble deeds and has entertained the public. The group has supported me a lot." He promised his support at all times.

Geethanjali Suvarna, zilla panchayat member addressing the occasion said, "JCI promotes cleanliness, water supply, help to poverty stricken families, education and so on. There is need to empower youth and strengthen their minds for social service."

Anup, a retired serviceman was felicitated.

The programme was followed by a highly hilarious Tulu drama 'Aapuji Panda Deepuji' with talented artistes led by Umesh Mijar.

Winners received amazing trophies at the prize distribution ceremony distributed by Akshata Prabhu.

B P Ramesh Poojary, director, Fisheries Corporation, Karnataka State, Ramesh Kanchan, councillor, City Municipality Council, Udupi, Prasad Raj Kanchan, board of director, Kanchana Hyundai, Udupi, Ibrahim Byari, UFT, Gujjarbettu, Rotarian Rama Poojary, former president, Rotary Club, Kallianpur, JC Rakesh Kunjur, zonal vice president, region ‘xv’, JC Arun Kumar, former president, JC Prashant Acharya, Sapthaha director, JC Srinivas, secretary, Shalini Purandar, Jayeeret Shalini Purandar, JJC Yathish, junior JC president, Narendra Kota, JC Jagadeesh Kemmannu,programme director and others were present.

Around 14 kids of varying age groups participated in the beauty contest.

Winners of the competition are as follows:

Junior queen category for 3-5 years:

Astha Nayak, LKG student of GM Vidyaniketan Public School bagged the first prize

Brahmi, LKG student of Mount Rosary School Santekatte won the second prize

Senior queen category for 5-8 years:

Chaitali Shet, UKG student of Little Rock School secured first place

Navya Poojary second standard student of Mount Rosary School Santekatte secured the second place

Junior king category for age group below 3-5 years:

Nikhil from STPM School secured first place

Swastik from Mount Rosary School, Santhekatte secured second place

Senior king category for age group below 5-8 years:

Karthikeya from Mount Rosary School secured first place

Pranav from Milagres secured second place

JC Purandar Salian welcomed the gathering. JC Srinivas, secretary extended the vote of thanks.
