Bengaluru: Yeddyurappa, Shobha try to woo NRI Kannadigas

Bengaluru, Oct 16 (DHNS): BJP state president B S Yeddyurappa and party general secretary Shobha Karandlaje have urged Kannadigas residing in the US to campaign for the BJP during the 2018 Assembly elections.

The IT wing of the party had organised a video conference of Yeddyurappa with NRI Kannadigas in Bengaluru on Saturday.

Karandlaje, in her interaction, said in the 2014 Lok Sabha elections, a large number of NRIs had taken leave of absence from their work and had come to India to campaign for Narendra Modi.

“Similarly, you must come here to campaign for Yeddyurappa so that he can become chief minister again.

You can either work in your home district or sit in the party head office to lend support. Please save your leave for the next 15 months to be here during the elections,” she said.

A similar request was made to the audience by Yeddyurappa.

While replying to a question, Yeddyurappa said the Centre had sanctioned IIT to Dharwad. If the BJP returns to power, then Dharwad and other Northern Karnataka districts would get institutions to teach IT education. In addition, basic infrastructure would be improved in the region.

‘Unclear sand policy’

Replying to a question on the industrial sector, Yeddyurappa said the present government is confused over its sand mining policy. “When we come to power, we will ensure that iron ore produced here is utilised for domestic consumption. Mining, tourism and irrigation would be our priority,” he added.

I was repeatedly saying emotions of Indians can be easily swayed just using the social media.

Take the example of prior to 2014 Lok sabha elections,BJP MLA uploaded Pakistani video and whole Muzaffarnagar and entire Western UP engulfed in communal violence.

The only party benefited from such communal violence is BJP.They have mastered the art of deceiving inspired by the presidential election in US.

Yeddy,Shobha woo to NRI is another solid proof of misusing of 'Digital India' for political benefit.

Antony Maam, I don't know which USA NRI's you are referring to? Please elaborate. Tell me one thing, what is the proud achievement of previous governments? Change is difficult, that too when country is ruled for past 60 years on different terms. So, please be patient, it might take not this term of current government, but one more term to see some progress. You can tell, Mr. Modi can only wish to be elected for second term, but time will tell.

Why Modi want time for development. People voted BJP only because he told he will bring back black money in 150 days. Every Indian in India and around the world were watching this. When he took the U-TURN he proved he is a liar. What you are talking about development, Congress govt. developed India and brought this much up in the world, Modi hasn’t done anything understand. Congress failed in controlling black money and this man said he will bring it back. Where is it? you mean to say it will take 60 years is it?

Please dont mix up development and black money! Development dont happen overnight, i hope you are aware of it. You called Mr. Modi a liar, tell me which politician is not? Everyone knows, who has the largest share of black money outside? 60 years of looting should be possible now to buy a country for so called congress leaders. Congress government developed! Developed what in recent years? Talking about Indhira gandhi/Rajiv gandhi, yes, their contributions to the country was significant and I have no doubts. After that, what happened? "Modi hasn’t done anything understand...", please visit Gujarat once and then discuss. I have been there, done business and our Nidhramayyas government can never reach that level. Take it easy, when we have given Congress to rule for so many years, lets give Mr.Modi a chance...so chill, "All is well".

I do agree with you sir DKPraje,
Today BJP is breathing and ruling some states its because of our respectful leader PM Modi,

These Yeddi and his chamchaas should know it well that no one is trusting them, they breached trust of Kannadigaas,
Don't think Shobha that NRI's will listen your bakwaas and vote to yeddi. Don't dream that Yeddi will be CM and you will be deputy!!

Hello Madam! Please dont compare our PM with Yeddi, India needed a leader like Mr. Modi. What is your/BJPs/any other governments vision for our state? The bigger joke is Mr. Yeddi dont even understand how IIT system work. How can IIT improve IT education in northern Karnataka? IIT students are not ed through your CET entrance and students from our state represent less than 5% combined in all IITs across India. Please get some basic education on how institutions work in our country or how to do governance. This is 2016, wake up before it is too late! Ms. Shobha, you got elected twice, please tell us what is your real contribution that benefited DK people? Please dont mistake me, I am not congress/JDS/some paksha, just namma oordhaaye asking some basic question to our politicians!
