Mangaluru: Man falls moving bus, loses life

Mangaluru, Oct 16: As the driver of a bus moved the vehicle ahead even as a youth was getting down from the footboard, the passenger lost his balance and fell. He suffered grave injuries and died on the spot.

The incident occurred at Jodukatte near Thokkottu within the limits of Konaje police station on Saturday, October 15.

The passenger, identified as Jehangir Sheikh (21), was said to be travelling towards Konaje from Grama Chavadi. Near the Jodukatte mosque, the bus had stopped to offload passengers. The conductor blew the whistle as soon as the passengers alighted,  the driver, Muhammed Iqbal, moved the bus ahead. At that instant, Sheikh, who was on the footboard and was about to place his foot on the road, got tossed to the road, causing his instant death, reports said.
