Udupi: Carpenter slips from roof, breathes his last

Udupi, Oct 16: In a tragic incident which occurred at Katapadi in the taluk on Saturday, October 15, a carpenter slipped down from an under-construction tin sheet roof and suffered grievous injuries. He died at a  hospital later in the day.

The victim was Rama Acharya (4), a carpenter by profession and trustee of Goddess Kalikamba temple, Katapadi. He was involved in the repair of the tin sheet roof of the temple office located in the outer precincts of the temple, when he lost his balance, fell, and suffered severe injuries to his head.

Acharya was immediately taken to a private hospital in the city for treatment. However, he died a little while later, without responding to treatment. A case relating to the incident was registered in Kaup police station.
