Karkala: Elderly man alleged to have raped minor

Karkala, Oct 16: A 57-year-old man has bee accused of raping a minor girl at Kabettu within the local municipal limits.

Appu Naik (57) from Kabettu has been accused of committing this heinous act. He has been charged with visiting the house of the 14-year-old victim and raping her. The mother of the girl, who arrived at her home sometime later, realised what had happened in her absence.

A complaint under Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act has been registered in this respect in the town police station here. Police officers have taken up an investigation.
