Mangaluru, Oct 17: In the absence of the occupant, thieves entered a house located in PWD quarters at Kavoor in the city and stole cash and things worth Rs 15,000. The house in question has been allotted to the judge of the fifth additional and JMFC court here, Mamata Shivapuji.

Rs 8,000 in cash, two wrist watches worth Rs 5,000 and makeup set valued at Rs 2,000 were taken away by the thieves. The theft happened during the absence of the judge, who had left to her house at Mysuru after locking the residential quarters here on October 9. She returned on Saturday and noticed that her house had been burgled during her absence.

The thieves entered this house by bending the rods of the bathroom ventilator in the rear side of the house. They then forced open the almirah inside the bedroom by using some equipment before stealing cash and other items kept inside.

Kavoor police have registered a case and begun investigation.
