Mangaluru: Foggy weather continues, delays landing of flights

Mangaluru, Oct 17: As the environment was covered with thick fog on Sunday October 16 morning, flights from Dubai and Abu Dhabi landed at the international airport here with a delay of about two hours. Both these flights were operated by Jet Airways.

Both these flights directly went to Kozhikode in Kerala and came back to the city later. On Sunday morning, almost the entire district was enveloped by fog. The foggy weather continued on Monday too.

Meteorological department officials say that morning fog is expected to continue for two to three days more in the coastal belt.

    Lets start with an airport more closer to the ground. At Bajpe altitudes its difficult to differentiate between fog, clouds or smog.

    We can have a new airport built closer to the City on reclaimed land if need be, just like Hong Kong.
