Mandya: RPF sub-inspector gets crushed under train

Mandya, Oct 17: Railway Protection Police (RPF) sub-inspector, Jyotiprabhu (36), slipped when getting down from Tirupathi Express which was moving from Mysuru towards Bengaluru and got crushed under the wheels of this train. The incident occurred at the railway station here on the evening of Sunday October 16.

After coming to know that a verbal altercation was going in S 2 coach of the train, he had entered this compartment with some officials as soon as the train pulled into the railway station here. He succeeded in settling the dispute there. By then, the train had started moving ahead. Other personnel got down from the train. Jyotiprabhu too hurriedly got down from the train, but in the process, he slipped and got under the wheels of the train.

He had suffered serious injuries to head and legs. He breathed his last on being taken to hospital. A case about the incident was registered at the railway police station.
