M'lore: Four  Members of Rego Family Family Die in Tragic Accident near Dharwad

Daijiworld Media Network - Mangalore (GA)

Mangalore, Dec 31: In a ghastly road accident near Dharwad, four members of a Mangalorean Catholic family, originally hailing from Rambail near Taccode of Moodbidri but now settled in Mumbai, were killed in the wee hours of Monday December 31.

The deceased have been identified as Gerry Rego (60), his wife Lucy Rego (55), their son Edwin Rego (32) and a close family member Stephen Rodrigues (25).  All of them had come to attend a wedding ceremony of one of their relatives in Taccode on December 26.

The family had left Taccode on Sunday December 29 on their Scorpio vehicle.  As they reached Dharwad, the Scorpio rammed into a stationary lorry.  The impact of the accident was such ghastly that all four of them were killed on the spot.

More details are awaited.
