Kuwait: Tulu Parba competitions conclude on captivating note

Kuwait, Oct 18: Tulu Koota - Tulu Parba competitions were held at the Indian Community School, Salmiya on October 7 with maximum participation from all age groups, be it individual or group. Children and adults of all ages participated in the various competitions as they flocked in large numbers.

The programme began with a warm welcome by the hosts Priya Devadiga and Manoj Shetty, as they set the mood for the day. A welcome prayer was sung by Madhav Naik, Ronald and Wilma. The programme kick-started with the lighting of the lamp by the management committee and advisory committee followed by a welcome speech from Harish Bhandary, president of Tulu Koota here. The Tulu Parba 2016 competition was very well coordinated by Swarna Shetty.

The children excelled in all groups setting stiff competition and making it tough for the judges to judge. Competitions slated out for various age groups and those planned for the day included – capture the moment, photography and videography for toddlers, fancy dress based on nursery rhymes and mythological characters, colouring, drawing, collage making and solo dance for the kids. Adults tried their hand at watermelon eating and pick and speak (Tulu), while group dance and group fancy dress were open to all.

TKK introduced 'Dubsmash' competition which was open to all and uploaded on Facebook which was a source of amusement to all. The highlight of the competition was the 'Super Jodi' contest for couples where couples posted their photos on Facebook and had 5 different game rounds at the venue to win the title. The highest liked couple on Facebook also won a complementary prize. The Super Jodi was hosted by Suresh Salian and Dr Preethi Shetty.

Tasty Mangalurean food was served by M & M Restaurant, photography was by Snipper’s Clicks and Sound and Light by Illuminations (Anand). The event concluded with prize distribution to the winning participants, vote of thanks by Satish Acharya and singing of the National Anthem.

Tulukoota Kuwait cordially invites one and all for its upcoming mega programme on October 28 at American International School from 4.00 pm onwards. Highlight of the event is Tulu comedy drama 'Adimel', acted and directed by Navin D Padil, Bhojaraj Vamanjoor, Arvind Bolar and Shashiraj Rao Kavoor.
