Udupi, Oct 19: "AAP Udupi, calls upon local leaders and prominent people to join the party and to support AAP in the Goa elections," stated Shanthala Damle, state convener of AAM Aadmi Party at a press meet she addressed on Tuesday October 18.

She said, "After a huge kickstart in Delhi on winning 67/70 seats, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has been growing in popularity all over the country. AAP is confident of winning a huge majority at the assembly elections in Punjab and Goa early next year. AAP's increasing popularity in the poll-bound states has unleashed a lot of vendetta from political opponents and they have been creating obstacles in every possible way for the Delhi government. Yet, Delhi government has achieved great results in healthcare and education."

"On Sunday October 16, Arvind Kejriwal held a rally at Surat, Gujarat, which was attended by thousands of people. Permission to conduct the rally was delayed several times, AAP volunteers were detained and beaten up by police, an AAP MLA who was in charge of the rally was arrested by Delhi police a day before the rally, in Gujarat, on the basis of a fabricated case. The landlord of AAP Surat office was pressurised into asking the party to vacate a day before the rally. Electricity to the venue was cut off the previous night, malicious banners were put up against Arvind Kejriwal and many more such despicable acts had taken place. Despite all this, the Gujaratis have spoken out loud and clear. They are ready for a change and ready for AAP," Damle said.

"Under the able leadership of state convener Reddy, Karnataka has been focusing on AAP, targeting the Karnataka assembly elections in 2018. Thousands of volunteers have joined the party in the last few months across the state through missed calls to 080-67331840. Damle, called upon the party's supporters, well wishers and sympathisers across the district to publicly endorse the party and to support AAP in the upcoming Goa elections. AAP is already on a winning path in Goa and some help from Karnataka would ensure more than a 2/3rd majority win."

Damle explained the three ways to help namely:
1. Make a donation to Aam Aadmi Party and indicate the contribution towards Goa's campaign.
2. Join the ground campaign in Kannada and Konkani speaking areas of Goa. People interested in joining the team must leave on October 19 for 7-10 days or they can register in the second week of November to get there. Food and accommodation will be taken care of by AAP Goa.
3. Join a call campaign and make at least 20 calls a day. Leaders can contact Jai Kishan Poojari, Udupi district joint secretary on 8884044215 to pledge their support.

"AAP has one agenda namely to provide corruption-free and people-centric governance. AAP is confident of winning with a huge majority the next year's assembly elections in Punjab and Goa. The increasing popularity of AAP, states that political opponents are gearing up for the elections of the Delhi government to hamper a different kind of activity. Despite this, the Delhi government has achieved effective results in the fields of health and education. AAP invites local leaders and leaders of the party to join them and support them in the AAP Goa polls," said Shanthala Damle.

@Edwin, During Delhi election time also many people asked same question. But now see 67 MLA in that educated minister like Sisosia, Jain and other leaders like Kumar, Ashuthosh, Kethan from different background. And if you see from Goa candidates are teachers, Doctor, lawyers etc. There is no absolutely shortage for leaders in our society. But only thing is because of our corrupted politics everyone stayed away. No time is changed. Many new leaders will come from Karnataka also. Best of luck Goa.
