Udupi: Vehicle runs over head of pedestrian – locals suspect murder

Udupi, Oct 19: A person died near Udupi bus stand in the morning, on October 18, when a vehicle passed over his head. Locals who saw the dead man assumed it to be an act of murder. However, the police who arrived at the scene clarified that it was an accident and not murder.

An Assistant KSRTC unit inspector, Devappa Naika (59), saw the 45-year-old man with a wrecked head near Aralimara Katte on Tuesday morning, October 18 and informed the police.  The police learnt that a vehicle going to the KSRTC bus stand ran over his head.  As it was morning, the person and the vehicle which caused the accident are not known.  A police case is registered in Udupi traffic police station.
