Kasargod: 2 arrested for drawing money using woman's ATM card

Kasargod, Oct 19: Bedadka police have arrested a bus cleaner and his friend for drawing cash using the ATM card of a woman.

The arrested persons are identified as Vinod and Irfan, both residents of Vellikoth near here.

Vinod works as a cleaner in a private bus plying on Kanhangad Panathur Road. The ATM card of Sathidevi from Bedadka Marundakara was lost on October 11. The suspects have withdrawn Rs 39,000 from different ATM counters in Kanhangad using the ATM card and the secret code found with it.

 

The police traced the suspects with the help of CCTV recordings. Cash was withdrawn by them three times on October 12. Sathidevi received mobile messages as soon as the withdrawals were made. She complained to Bedadka police station after receiving the messages.

Vinod and his friend Irfan have confessed that they have withdrawn money from the account using the ATM card.

Police have said that eight bike theft cases stand registered against Irfan in Kanhangad and Payyanur police stations.

    It looks so funny...First of all why the lady did not call the bank and inform them stop the ATM card activation. Second thing why she wrote her pin the ATM card. Third by CC TV how they can arrest both??? and find Eight bike theft cases are there???

    Good they caught the thief.what about the Money drawn ?does the bank repay when Card is stolen and complain?From the accused one anyway not to expect to get back.whereas here ,we dont get the Money since pin was written on the Card and made them easier,otherwise bank do pay but make lot of hurdles till then.The accused one has so many cases against him and still free roaming around?

    This is what happens if you keep the pin written on the ATM card. However, SMS prompts did surely help in nabbing them.
