Bantwal, Oct 20: The police department which has taken steps to regulate traffic in Farangipete, vacated petty shops and pushcarts in front of Barake Complex here on orders from superintendent of police (SP) Bhushan G Borase on Wednesday, October 19. Objection from a few local people led to confusion for some time.

At a public meeting led by SP Bhushan G Borase on Sunday October 16, people raised several complaints about the traffic woes in Farangipete. People complained that auto rickshaws, bikes and private vehicles are parked in front of the bus stand causing buses to pick up passengers on the highway thereby resulting in heavy congestion.

Bantwal traffic police on orders from the SP have begun imposing fines on vehicles parked on both sides of the bus stand from Monday.

Traders and local people who objected to the operation tried to phone Pudu grama panchayat PDO and requested him to come to the place. However, despite repeated requests, he did not turn up. His mobile was later switched off.

Iqbal Amemar, former grama panchayat member said that there is no objection to the widening of the road. “It is unfair to suddenly vacate those who earn their living through petty shops and push carts,” he said.

    If someone close the eyes
Petty shope owners ready operate their shops under every new Flyover Bridge.
Ther should be proper market place for everything, not in front of Bus stop because more people are coming to bus stop.

Good that Police have taken steps to clear the pathway from petty Shops. It was really a messy Situation and had no proper way to reach buses. One who earns their living with petty Shops or carts should be given a ed place and a area .Not everywhere and any amount of place to occupy as they want.Sametime the officials also have a overlook, control over the place.Only cash and sit inside ,and later Problems arise noone is there for the citizens. There is Problem to cross road for the publc. Why dont they look into this issue?

Sudden evacuation is not good. We should respect petty shop owners too. Do Govt suddenly demolish the illegal buildings?

Police should give an advance notice and then vacate. Come with JCB and park it for full day. Vendors will automatically vacate. whoever remains next day, simply demolish them.

Traffic regulation is badly needed in Surathkal too. too much block in the evening even with road widened by NHAI. ppl are parking their vehicle :(

road has to be widened where required.city developes ,population increases.vehicular trffic increases.those who do or set up petty shopes on the the roadside, can do so at their own risk.they can not inconvieniance the public at large.city can develope by cooperation from all.
