Udupi: ‘Kanaka Nade’ begins inside Math premises, Swamiji calls for inner cleanliness

Udupi, Oct 23: ‘Kanaka Nade’, an initiative by Yuva Brigade under the leadership of Chakravarthy Sulibele, began at Pejawar Math premises on Sunday, October 23 here.

Vishweshateertha Swamiji of Pejawar Math started the ‘Kanaka Nade’ by garlanding the statue of Kanakadas in front of Kanaka Gopura at Srikrishna Math.

Around 500 volunteers from various parts of the state have come for ‘Kanaka Nade.’ Originally it was scheduled to be held inside city with walk and cleanliness drive. But as the administration did not give permission, it was decided to hold the same inside the Math premises. Rajangana, Goshala, parking lots are also covered. The drive will go on till noon.

Five workers, who are cleaning the Math premises on everyday, were honoured at the occasion.

Vishweshateertha Swamiji is his speech asked the people to keep the surrounding of homes and city clean. “The whole country will become clean if you follow the cleanliness principles. Inner cleanliness of a person too is very important.” Swamiji said.

Lakshmi Varatheertha Swamiji from Shiroor Math was present among others.
