Mangaluru, Oct 24: Urging the arrest of the student who assaulted the principal of the Milagres College, the members of the Parents Teachers Association (PTA) along with the staff of the college staged a protest in the college premises on Monday, October 24.

Speaking on the occasion  Deepak D'Souza from PTA urged the authorities to arrest the culprit immediately. "It is a terrorising among the students and teachers fraternity. He has been absconding since three days and the police have not been able to arrest him. There are few behind the scenes who are trying to protect the boy. We urge the police department to bring the culprit behind the bars at the earliest.”

“The whole of the teaching fraternity has gone into a shock due to this incident. A law against the students assaulting the teachers must also be formed, similar to the law for the teachers punishing the students. " he added.

PTA member Raymond D'Cunha said “This protest is in solidarity with the principal. We want to show to everyone that the management and the staff are with the principal. We have been pained by this incident and seek justice from the authorities."

The staff later on went to their respective classes after the protest.

Where and how long he can hide.
At the time of assaulting the Principal he was full of courage. Now hiding like a rate in rate hole. Someone must have sheltered him.
    Pakdo, pakdo, pakdo.

Publish his picture in the media, face book etc.
Shankar, Ullal, Bunder, Adyar, Farangipet, Surathakal... but police should nab him at the earliest.

I have a good suggestion for this ill fated escaped student for pardoning:

    1) He should ask apology in front of the Principal in the assembly of all the students of the college.

    2) Take an apology letter for his blunders deed. His parents should also sign as guarantors.

    3) Issue him a T.C., and he can continue his studies anywhere he wanted but not in Milagris College.

Even I too was a student of Milagres High school. There were few notorious boys but Fr. Aranha used to whip them with the cane (nagara betha) on both the hands.. hui hui.. all depends on the gravity of the mistake. But no one dare to disobey. What happened here shows the culture and upbringing of the boy who slapped the Principal. How he is behaving with his parents to be known.

I condem the act done by the student. Am an old student of Milagres Junior College, and mine was the first batch of pre university in the year 1983-84. Father Vas was our Principal and even he was very strict with students, but today whatever i am, this are the good disciplines i learned from that school. Parents should not support to such misbehavior acts done from their wards. No politicians should be allowed to such incidents.

When I was in 12th, bell bottom pant and long hair (hippy) was a style. Our Principal was a Priest who always wished to see his students neat, clean and decent. We were calling him Hitler. Even he banged my head to the wall for my mistake and I counted the stars. Yet, believe me, he was the best Principal and I was respecting him as I respect my parents. Whatever he was doing was to teach us to be good citizens and to shape our future. Those who do not respect their teachers will never have better future. May my 'Hitler' Principal's soul rest in peace.

I compliment the PTA and all well wishers in staging a protest against the aggressive act of the concerned student. A teacher and more so the principal is like a parent in school. Laying a hand on the principal is like hitting one's own father.

Young man wherever you are come forward and fall at the feet of The Principal and ask his pardon. This is your only hope. It is only a question of time before you are located and then the action on the part of police will be strict.

Lydia, Ivan and JR lobo are the saviors of Christians in Mangalore. You remember JR Lobo taking a delegation to CM to report about stone pelting on one of the churches in Mangalore? It was later found out to be an expression of anger by an underpaid labourer. That is why I asked about their whereabouts. FYI BJP has already expressed its solidarity with the Principal and staff.

Shankar, this is a institutional matter though the school is run by christian missionary. Am sure the teachers and students belong to different religions. Then what is the need Ivan or JR Lobo to specifically back Christians here? Today here next it could be any other institution.. please raise above politics. More over Ivan & JRL did not win only because of Christian votes. What is to % of Christians constitutes in SK? So please dont politicize the issue.
