Kundapur, Oct 25: A youth was killed after the motor bike he was riding collided head-on with a Mahindra pick-up vehicle at Bijur near Byndoor in the taluk on national highway 66. The accident occurred on Tuesday, October 25.

The victim has been identified as Guru Poojary (32), son of Annappa Poojary from Yadthare, Byndoor.

It is said that the motor bike, which was moving towards the town from the direction of Byndoor was moving at high speed. When attempting to overtake a bus that was moving ahead, the motor bike directly smashed into the pick-up vehicle. In this accident, the head of the bike rider bore most of the impact, as a result of which Poojary died on the spot. It is gathered that he was a substitute bus driver.

RIP. Very sad. My condolences to the family

He must have forgotten that he is riding a bike. Instead he must have thought that he is driving a bus a substitute driver with overspeeding as most of the bus drivers do.
