Bengaluru: HC directs conversion of writ petition on Tipu Jayanti as PIL

Bengaluru, Oct 27: A single judge bench of the state high court has directed the high court registrar general to treat a writ petition filed against celebration of Tipu Jayanti as public interest litigation (PIL) and place it before a division bench.

A person from Kodagu district had approached the high court seeking directions to the government against celebrationg the birth anniversary of Tipu as he felt there is possibility of fuelling of communal passions resulting in communal clashes. A farmer, K P Manjunath, had filed this petition.

The bench observed that this petition involves public interest. Therefore the presiding officer said it deserves to be moved in a division bench for consideration.

AND WHY THEY DO NOT OPPOSE TO THE SERIAL FILMS OF TIPPU BEFORE. THAT TIME THEY WERE SLEEPING, NO THIS IS ONE KIND OF POISEN AND DESEASE THEY WANT TO OMIT IT NOW IN THE NAME OF PARTICULAR RELEAGION. TIPPU IS NOT A CRITICS MATTER TO THOSE PEOPLE, MUSLIM TIPPU IS MATTER TO THOSE PEOPLE.
    LET THEM SHOW ANY PROOF THAT HE CONVERTED ANY NON MUSLIMS OR CHRISTIANS. AND LET THEM PROVE TIPPU WAS RAPIST.

    If Tipu Sultan was a great then what about other 'great' men like the martyrs Burhan Wani, the recently hanged Yakub Memon, Afzal Guru & Ajmal Kasab.

    Keep celebrating and we will toast with tea spoon of "water from the well" (because that's all we can afford) and soon we will have 365 days of year as holidays.

    I am shocked that a news article like this about celebrating tipu jayanti does not attract strong condemnation from people of one particular community, whos ancestors suffered the most. Its a disgrace that the majority of that community votes for the political party that has decided to celebrate tipu jayanti.

    We have heard enough fairy tales all these years.. but thanks to this Jayanti, at least many unknown facts are coming to light.

    He was siding with French to establish their Delhi rule, to retain mysore. So, just because he is against British make him patriot even though he was with anther Europe invaders?
    He had hatred towards non mulims and inscription on his sword itself is proof. But since he had hindu soldiers who kept donating temple in his name, he gained free publicity. Just like current days political chelas.
    In the final war he was not fighting. He was disguised as a commoner (like our patanjali baba, lol) to escape and his dead body was recognized after 2 days.

    But alas, our so called historians are very smart. .they brain washed us so well, people are not ready to accept any bitter fact on him… that is the power of agenda drive leftist historians.

    Nalwadi Krishna Raja Odeyar honored Tipu by displaying foundation stone layed by Tipu for KRS dam.If Krishna Raja Odeyar had that much respect for Tipu then why others have problem with Tipu.Only those beneficiary of British rule are having problem with Tipu.Whether Govt supports or not No one can stop celebrating birthday of Shaheed Tipu Sultan.

    Why communal clash?How this Sanghi knows that?BJP want this event to their favor.Once in KJP ,BSY celebrated TIPPU JAYANTI and his communal party goes against it!!!Tippu supported more than 100 plus temples monetary aid .In specific Sringeri Mutt has that inscription!!He fought four decisive war against Brits and abolished VARNA BEDA neethi of higher cast.He certainly destroyed properties belonged to those who supported Brits.At present in India those who collaborated with Brits are Nationalist and those who fought against Brits are ANTI-NATIONAL!!!     I dont care how much he paid to what monasteries. Just read the historical accounts of genocide he carried out. Its a disgrace that the government chose to celebrate his birthday.

    And also why would you care what tipu did cause what he did did not affect your community.

    One thing good from the govt holding the celebrations is that we can clearly identify who is in which side of the fence.

    I wanted to know who is that gy who imagined Tipu like a good looking movie hero? this is what goes around all the text books. that is the image that comes to our mind when we hear his name

    But the real photo that is found in London, one would be shocked to see.. the real photo would remind us of the atrocities that he committed against thousands of hindus and xtians.. so whoever pained the good looking image must have an agenda to fool us.
