Udupi: Theft in the house of elderly couple in Malpe

Udupi, Oct 28: Thieves broke into the house of elderly couple at Karthik Nivas, Vadabandeshwara Thottam road, Malpe and decamped with items made up of silver used for worship worth Rs 45 thousand.

Srinivasa Ballal (62) had locked the house and gone to his son's house in Bengaluru with his wife on  September 27. The theft has come to light when they returned on Wednesday, October 26.

The thieves broke the house door open and took away the valuables. A police complaint in this regard is registered in Malpe police station.
