Mangaluru: FMMC certified as training center for American Heart Association

Mangaluru, Oct 28: Father Muller Medical College (FMMC) has been accredited international training center for conducting American Heart Association (AHA) life saving courses. The classes for the public will begin from November 3," informed Dr Sreedhara Avabharatha, director of the AHA courses for the center.

Addressing media persons in the city he disclosed that the Father Muller Simulation and Skills center, which will be a year old this November, will carry out AHA life-saving courses namely:

1. Basic Life Support (BLS)
2. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
3. Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)

"Father Muller Medical College is the first medical college in the city and the fourth in Karnataka to be accredited the AHA authorized international training center. The center has qualified AHA instructors for the above courses from their in-house faculty and the center is equipped to conduct courses for larger group of learners. The center is also committed to create awareness on Basic Life Support to the non-health care community in this area," he said.

Administrative in-charge of the center Dr Rithesh Joseph D'Cunha was also present at the occasion.

    GREAT news!! to give awareness and skills.. how to save lives in case of life threatening emergencies such as Heart Attack, Cardiac Arrest, and Stroke & to DO SOMETHING better than stand &look and Do NOTHING, every seconds counts in case of EMERGENCY.I helped and saved many lives in real life scenario.
    By the way..I am a CPR- BLS& FIRST AID Instructor/Trainer from American Heart Association & American Red Cross . and certified at least 2000 plus Healthcare Staff here in US.This my part time hobby which I love to do.
