RVD reviews preparations for ThinkBig2016 Summit

Bengaluru, Oct 28: Karnataka’s large and medium industries minister R V Deshpande on Friday reviewed the preparations for ThinkBig2016 Summit, touted as Asia’s largest women entrepreneurs event, being held in the city on November 14 and 15.

Deshpande, along with senior officials from all major departments including BDA, Corporation, Industries, Tourism, IT/BT, Police and Kannada and Culture, inspected roads and all other arrangements made for this global summit being held at Bangalore International Exhibition Centre (BIEC).

Representatives from different women’s associations were also present for the venue inspection when the minister discussed all necessary arrangements for the event with senior officials of various departments.

Speaking to the press, the minsiter said women entrepreneurs form an integral part of the small and medium businesses in Karnataka.

“We are proud to be hosting India’s first international conference for women entrepreneurs in Bengaluru. We will ensure that no stone is left unturned to guarantee a world class, first of its kind event for women entrepreneurs from across the globe,’’ he said.

“Our aim is to encourage women entrepreneurship, improve the contribution of women entrepreneurs and facilitate creation of more women enterprises in the state in the next few years. The government is also setting up a women’s park clusters in Harohalli, Mysuru, Dharwad and Ballary,” he said.

ThinkBig2016 will bring together Women Business Owners, Multinational Corporate Buyers, Government Officials, Multilateral and Bilateral Organizations, Investors including Banks, VCs &Private Equity Firms and Industry Thought Leaders.

The event will witness participation of more than 2000 women entrepreneurs from various sectors. The event is already receiving an overwhelming response with more than 1500 confirmed registrations. Over 150 Industry thought leaders have be invited to deliver keynote speeches at the conference. The Tradeshow at Thinkbig2016 will feature 500 stalls of women entrepreneurs’, industry associations, strategic partners, companies, as well as corporate procurement desks. More than 200 tradeshow stalls have already been booked, said an official press release.
