Kuwait, Oct 29: Kuwait witnessed the grand extravaganza of drama, traditions, dances, folks, dance skits, Yakshagana and much more under a grandly decorated stage with glittering lights and thunderous sound. Continuing the tradition of the last 16 years, Tulu Koota Kuwait (TKK), led by president Harish Bhandary, organized 'Tulu Parba 2016' on Friday October 28 at American International School, Maidan Hawally, Kuwait.
The highlight of the day was superhit Tulu drama 'Adimel' by most popular comedy actor Navin D Padil, famed entertainer Bhojraj Vamanjoor, recognised and versatile actor Aravind Bolar, the eminent writer director Shashiraj Kavoor and musician Guru Bayar. Other scintillating performances included variety of dances by Prathibha school of dance, folk dances and 'Parbada Minadana' by Tulukoota members & kids.
The audience were formally welcomed and Tulu Koota Kuwait activities were highlighted by compere of the evening Shashiraj Kavoor and Ashwitha Surendra Poojary followed by traditional lighting of the lamp by guest of honour Lawrence Pinto, Muralidharan Nayar and Suresh Attavar along with President Harish Bhandary, advisory committee and managing committee members. A souvenir was released to mark the event in an unique manner.
After the welcome speech of Vice President Wilson D'Souza, welcome dance (Ganesha Stuti) was presented by Prathibha school of dance. The audience were entertained with a variety of performances such as 'Parbada Minadana' which was on the different festivals of Tulunadu during the whole year (Directed & Choriagraphed by Vidwan Sri Suresh Attavar and Mayuri Attavar of Chakrapani Nritya kala Kendra) by Tulukoota members & kids, Folk Dance Janapada Vaividhya (Concept & Direction- Satish Acharya, Choreography- Dhanraj Talapady & Durga prasad) by Tulukoota members and variety of dances by Prathibha school of dance (Choregrapher – Rajashree Prem) such as Kalkki- Contemperary, Semi classical -Dashavatara, Semiclassical- Cenematic and Bho shambo fusion. Dancers amd Choriagrapher of Prathibha school of dance Rajashree Prem was highly appreciated by audience for variety of dances, coordination of dancers, costumes and perfection.
All the sponsors were felicitated with momento for their contribution to the event. TKK members Shalini Vijay, Ronald D'souza Mulky, Sushma Bangera, Gokuldas Bhat, Visiting artists Bhojraj Vamanjoor, Suresh Attavar, Guruprasad Bayar, Shashiraj Rao Kavoor, Aravind Bolar and Navin D padil were felicitated with flowers, shawls, fruits and mementoes by Lawrence Pinto, Fr. Alban D'Souza, president Harish Bhandary, advisory committee and managing committee members. They also expressed their gratitude towards TKK for honoring them. After the presidential speech by President Harish Bhandary, Lawrence Pinto, Fr. Alban D'Souza spoke few appreciating words for TKK activities and program.
Scholarship and certificates of appreciation for academic excellence were given to meritorious 10th and 12th standard students who are children of TKK members. Mayuri Attavar and Roomel D'Souza (for being selected for in the Under 14 Maharashtra Hockey Team) were felicitated with momento.
After the vote of thanks by Cultural Secretary Harish Acharya, curtain was raised for the long-awaited Tulu comedy drama ‘Adimel’. The 50 minute's drama scripted by Shashiraj Kavoor, directed by Naveen D Padil succeeded in meeting the audience expectation with its rib-tickling comedy and emotions. The storyline was on how social media is effecting today's generation and divide the families. The talented visiting and TKK artistes Naveen D Padil, Bhojraj Vamanjoor, Aravind Bolar, Shashiraj Kavoor, Satish Acharya, Praveen Kodakkal, Chandrahas Shetty and Lionel Rayan Ajekar enacted the drama and entertained the audience with their power-packed performances. Music was provided by Guruprasad Bayar. Stage setting was done by Pradeep K Adyar, Johnson D’Almeida and Praveen Kodakkal.
The program was ably compered by Shashiraj Rao Kavoor and Ashwitha Surendra Poojary and co-ordinated by Satish Acharya. Sound and lightings were provided by Waves Events & Rentals Kuwait and makeup by Ajith Bipore & Team, Pradeep K Adyar, slides by Ramesh Bhandary & Team, LED display by Rohith Raghuram, Artwork was done by Manoj Kumar.
Even though the felicitation was lengthy, first time in the history of TKK the Tulu Parba program was time bounded and well managed to complete by 10:00 pm slight behind the scheduled which made all the audience to enjoy whole program. The credit goes to the president Harish Bhandary, program coordinator, Dynamic MC's and the persons involved in arranging the program. Overall, the annual event Tulu Parba was a feast to the eyes of the audience and a stress buster with healthy comedy and variety of quality entertainment.
