Puttur: St Philomena PU College inaugurates Talents Day

Puttur, Oct 29: The inaugural function of inter-class cultural competition ‘Talents Day’ was organized by Fine Arts Association of St Philomena Pre-University College, here on October 28 at the college auditorium.

The principal, Fr Vijay Lobo and the chief guests Vidwan Girish B, Vidhushi Anusha Hegde and design engineer Bhaskar Kulkarni inaugurated Talents Day by sprinkling petals of flowers.

The principal in his presidential address said, "The aim of education is to achieve the overall development of personality of every student. This can be realized by giving importance to both academic and extracurricular activities."

Talents Day competition included various items like classical dance, folk or semi-classical dance, mime or skit, western dance, group song, yakshagana or talamaddale and traditional fashion show.

The convenor Dimple J Fernandes, co-convenors Sumana Prashanth, Manjula K, Sandesh Lobo, Vijay Maxim D’Souza and Rahul co-ordinated the programme. Anuradha Bharadvaj and team performed the prayer. The joint secretary of the students’ council, Deepa Bhat welcomed the gathering. Co-convenor Viola Pereira proposed the vote of thanks and Laveena Santhmayor compered the programme.
