Mangaluru, Oct 29: “Let there be no notion that Muslim community is fragmented due to differences. We are united in between differences. Do not interfere in Shariyat”, said Udupi composite Khazi Bekal Ibrahim Musliyar.

He was speaking after presiding over in a protest meeting condemning government interference in Shariyat law and opposing uniform civil code held jointly by SJU, SJM, SYS, SSF, SMA, SEDC, KMJC, KCF organizations in front of deputy commissioner’s office on Friday, October 28.

“Islam is a complete religion. It has no scope for additions and deletions. Prophet Mohammed also did not have permission to bring about changes in it. In the circumstances, we strongly condemn the union government’s interference in topic concerning triple talaq. The government will have to face strong opposition if such changes are brought about,” he said.

“Talaq is an action that is not liked by even the Almighty. Talaq will be inevitable only after making sure that husband and wife cannot live together. There are several rules and provisions to support girls in Islam. Three talaqs cannot be uttered at once. The woman should be given time before uttering first talaq. There should also be a gap between saying second talaq. There should be one intermediary for the man and one for the woman for discussion before expressing talaq for third time. It becomes inevitable only after ensuring that no compromise is possible even after discussions.” he added.

M S M Abdurrashid Zaini said that the attempt to change Islam’s Shariyat by the union government is against the constitution.

“Ishara’ magazine editor Abdul Hameed Bajpe, SYS state president K P Hussain Saadi, KMJ chief secretary H I Abusufyan Ibrahim Madani, Jaffer Sakhaf Thanjal Koteshwara, Muhiuddin Kamil Sakhafi Thoke, K K Muhiuddin Kamil Sakhafi, Meeran Saheb Kadaba, M A Siddik Sakhafi Moolooru, K H Ismail Saadi Kinya, M P Ashraf Saadi Mullooru, Rashid Bellare, Katar Bava Haji, Abdurehman Razwi Kalkatta, Isaq Zahri, Sirajuddin Sakhafi Kanyana, Ismail Saadi Urumane and others were present.

A memorandum was submitted to the deputy commissioner after the protests.

M B Mohammed Sadiq welcomed. Ashraf Kinara proposed vote of thanks. Saadi compered the programme.

The challenge any government has is when a citizen approaches the courts to seek justice. Can a person whose rights are guaranteed under the constitution seek redress?

The big question here is which law takes precedent over the other Democratic laws or Sharia? Since they are poles apart, I really do not know if there will ever be a solution to this world wide problem.

It is totally a violation of the constitution. If such a law is proposed for christians, there would be worldwide condemnation from the pope downwards. What belongs to God must be left to God, not even to the clerics of any religion otherwise there will be total chaos in the world.

Our Muslim women are not public display property to be on stage when it's not a full women oriented program where only women are allowed. We care the modesty and chastity of women hence Islam has advised to observe hijab. With hijab there arises certain criteria that opposite sex who are not Mahram cannot mingle together.

I request you to study Islam rather than targetting it comparing to your Religion.

Now you may say we suppress our women's but proudly say we protect our women.

Liberal thinking the main reason the humans being so developed at this age.
Imagine, if there were restrictions on thinking and implementing ideas for the day, the wheel wouldn’t have been invented. Still sledge logs pulled by animals would be the only mode of transport.

Hindus have left behind Sathi, untouchability and child marriages. The present Pope is accepting transgenders in to the church, permitting abortions in medical emergencies, tomorrow he might accept use of contraceptives too. That is how we evolve. Hindus inviting Christian priests and nuns and their reciprocal gesture is a step ahead in communal harmony, another step in a developing society.

Why Muslims, though being educated do not want to fall in the mainstream? The men are under the fear of losing their dominance on women, so they hold on to their religious rules and regulations to have their autonomy over women.
Dear Muslim friends, it is time to move ahead. Give freedom to the female voices too. Take their opinion too on burkha, talaq and polygamy.

Dear brother Shanker, I respect your views about bringing changes and thinking about new things for development of humanity.
But you don't have full knowledge about Islam. The most important thing you should know about Islam is that we can not change things which are clearly ordered in Quraan and Hadees. Those who think that the rules in Islam are outdated and should be changed have only half knowledge or have read some wrong information by some ignorant people. Of course if you see the present condition of muslims all over the world every one will have a negative impression about Islam. That is because a large number of muslims are not following the teachings of our religion and becoming criminals, terrorists, drug peddlers, underworld dons etc.
    They are not true muslims.
If you understand the true principles and teachings of Islam I am sure you people will not have such a bad impression.
Any way I want to say that the muslim personal law involves only 3 things - marriage, divorce and inheritance. And both parties should be muslims. For non muslims these 3 muslim personal laws will not cause any change in their lives and therefore non muslims should not have any reason to comment here or in TV programmes. We muslims do not and should not comment about practices in Hinduism or christianity. I am sure it will hurt your feelings if we comment or suggest changes in your religious practices. Similarly you people should not have any interest in the personal life of muslims, especially in practices which will not harm you in anyway.

We are a democratic country where every citizen has equal rights. You can not argue that only men can can marry 4 women while suppressing the rights of women to marry just one(at a time).

Molvi has just expressed talak system which is followed in mangalore...which is in accordance to Quran...talak is not a problem in mangalore or neighboring areas...often non Muslims have misunderstanding that the same twisted instant triple talak which is too much hyped in media is followed by everyone in every parts...it is their ignorancy ..But only in some northern parts of the country talak is misused it need to stop ...
Secondly non Muslims should come out of their old cliche that Muslim woman are dumb they don't know anything ...Even some commentators here are coming up with same old argument...now they are educated and know what is their religion..this type of stereotype may be fit for your politics and may help you to score some brownies that the most it can do ...Just like how modi is using it for U.P election forgetting his own wife's condition...
Secondly any ideas on religion should come from within the community just like I being a Muslim can't dictate what Hindus should follow and how they have to behave ...and can't hound or taunt them by sitting in media and bashing them cause you get some wild pleasure or your followers get the same by doing so ...If a Muslim does the same thing on you what you call him...???
Thirdly opposing democratically doesn't make one anti national or backward ...Just like S.V Patel and Rajendra Pasadena didn't become so by opposing Hindu code bill ...

Uniform civil code is not a separate law to Muslims, but a common law for Indians...

Stop Blaming central government, since there was directive from Supreme government to know the pro and cons of Implementing UCC..

We are all open for changes and development.
We have shed the system of Sathi, untouchability and child marriage. We have women priests in Kudroli temple. Soon you will find more. We do not hold on to scriptures and oppose it.

First of all every non muslim commenting here should know that this is the personal law of muslims which involves only 3 things- marriage, divorce and inheritance. For all other things in life , both civil and criminal laws are same for all Indians. These 3 things- marriage, divorce and inheritance has to be followed by muslims according to the laws of Islam. No one has authority to question or change Allah's orders.Since this involves only muslims ( marriage and divorce laws of sharia are applicable only when both partners are muslims) non muslims have no business to question or comment on this issue which applies to only muslims and does not interfere in the lives of non muslims in any way.
You need not think about muslims personal matters or muslim women's rights without having proper knowledge.
In short I request all non muslims to stop commenting about our personal matter.
Your comments are not useful because we can't change anything in our religion.
