Mangaluru, Oct 31: “If the MLAs and the high command make home minister Dr Parameshwar, the chief minister of Karnataka and only then the Congress will be back to power in the next legislative assembly elections,” said Janardhan Poojary, the former union minister.

Addressing the media persons in the city on Monday October 31, Poojary said "As per the recent state-wide survey conducted by one of the television channels, it has been opined that Congress party will not come to power in the next elections under the leadership of Siddaramaiah. The opposition leaders including Yeddyurappa are making circus to bring BJP to power while the ministers of the state including Siddaramaiah are sleeping. This survey been telecast worldwide and still Siddaramaiah has not learnt the lesson.”

‘Siddaramaiah has become joker’

Addressing Siddaramaiah, Poojary said "Even when you came to Udupi yesterday, you cited lack of information regarding the few developments in Udupi. Being the chief minister of the state, you must have all the details. Is it for the panchayat members to collect all the information? Do not you have the MPs and MLAs from the coastal region to gather the information along with the government officials? You have become extremely disinterested and careless about your office. You have come to a conclusion that you will not become the next chief minister and hence you will be limited to complete your term and will contribute to keep Congress out of the power.”

“The survey also says that it is because of you about 15 to 20 MLAs are trying for mutiny against the party. You cannot not keep the party workers together, then how will you lead the six crore people of the state? You must resign immediately. You are in a day dream that you brought the party to the power. But I tell you it is the voters and party workers brought the party to power. What have you given to the party workers? You have become a joker. Tell openly that you have come to Congress to finish it" Poojary continued his onslaught on Siddaramaiah.

"Let the high command take the credit for making first Dalit chief minister. Or else let the high command decide between SM Krishna and DK Shivakumar." Poojary said.

Land scam

Speaking about the release of documents of government land scam against former chief minister Deve Gowda and his family by SR Hiremath, Poojary said that the government must investigate this scam. “They have acquired the 200 acres of government land including the grazing land for cattle. Persons like S R Hiremath do well to the society and hence politicians have the fear. His work has to be appreciated and persons like Hiremath must be there in the society." Poojary said.

"We need clean governance and clean government. This is something all people want from the politicians." Poojary opined.

Even when asked about the recent statements of VHP and Bajrang Dal leaders, he declined to answer.

While asked about former chief minister Yeddyurappa’s comments that the present government will not complete its term, he opined that everyone knows it and there need not be more comments.
