Kasargod: All eyes go high at kite festival on Posadigumpe hill

Kasargod, Oct 31: Kite festival held in Posadigumpe, highest tourist spot in Kasargod district, entertained the young and old alike. The festival was held as part of Vishwa Tuluvere Ayano scheduled to be held in Badiyadka in December.

Kites in various shapes, sizes and colours were exciting. Children, young and the elderly disregarding their age, participated in the festival.

Kites by Calicut’s Kite India, Mangaluru’s team Mangaluru Yakshagana troupe, Kathakali, Garuda and other kites caught the eyes. Exhibitions and competitions were also held together with kite flying.

Manjeshwar block panchayat president A K M Ashraf, Kayyar Christ the King Church parish priest Fr Victor D’ Souza, Paivalike grama panchayat president Bharathi Shetty, Vishwa Tuluvere Ayano organizer Rajesh Alva, Prof A Srinath were present on the occasion and they conveyed their best wishes.

More than hundred people participated in the competition.
