Udupi, Nov 1: In a complaint filed in Malpe police station, a person residing near Mahalaxmi Hotel at Kodavoor near here alleged that he was attacked by his own family members on Sunday October 30 relating to land dispute. The attackers also took away gold ornaments worn by him, he stated.

Ashwath Raj (45) was at the receiving end of the ire of his family members. It is said that he was embroiled in a dispute with other members of his family over a piece of land. He said that as soon as he got down from car near his home on Sunday afternoon, his family members who came in another car, hit him with their hands and pushed him to the ground.

"Members of my family, Avinash Raj, Ashwini, Prajnesh, Amrit Raj, Pratijna and Kishen Kumar attacked me and pushed me to the ground, after which Pratijna, Kishen Kumar and Amrit Raj attacked me with sharp wooden pieces besides raining choicest abuses at me. They also posed me death threat besides snatching away a five sovereign gold chain I was wearing around my neck, and a golden pendant weighing a sovereign that was in my possession," he explained.

On the basis of this complaint, a case has been registered in police station. Police have begun investigation.
