Karkala: Youth slips, drowns in Jogigundi waterfall

Karkala, Nov 1: A youth slipped, fell into Jogigundi waterfall near Agumbe and drowned on Monday, October 31. The victim has been identified as Rakshit (25), son of Ramesh from Brahmavar.

Rakshit was on a visit to the waterfall along with 16 colleagues from the company for which he worked. The group wanted to enjoy their Diwali holidays in this way, but their fun-filled trip proved disastrous because of this accident.

A case about the incident was registered in Agumbe police station relating to this tragedy. The investigation is on. People from the region claim that accidents have been happening here every year on 'Deepavali Padya' day as per Hindu calendar, which fell on October 31 this year, since many years and that this year has not been an exception.
