Mangaluru: November begins with light showers in district

Mangaluru, Nov 2: It is the beginning of November, a winter season. November rain is not surprising. But morning atmosphere on Tuesday November 1, did not show any signs that it would rain later. Parts of Dakshina Kannada saw sudden light showers in the evening.

The rain accompanied by lightning and thunder gave respite to the people, but many were not carrying umbrellas.

Lightning struck a house at Belma in Mangaluru taluk and damaged electrical wires.

Two persons sustained injuries after lightning struck them at Belaru in Belthangady taluk. The injured are Babu Gowda and his wife Vakamma. The injured are being treated in a hospital in Belthangady.

Mysuru, Kodagu and Chamarajanagar district received moderate rain on Monday night while Dharwad received heavy rains for nearly an hour.
