Udupi, Nov 2: A quarrel between siblings which centered around sharing of ancestral property and paying expenses snowballed into major confrontation between them at Hosangadi Kairumane in Perdur village in the taluk. At the end, the fight ended in the murder of the elder brother. This tragic incident occurred on Monday October 31.

Manjunath Mogera (40) from Kairumane Hosangadi was killed by his younger brother, Sadhu Mogera, in this incident.

These two brothers lived in their ancestral house at Kairumane along with their mother. Sadhu, since sometime, was not at all going out for any gainful employment and was just lazying around. He often kicked up a fight with his elder brother by demanding sharing of property and money for his personal expenses, it is gathered.

At around 3.45 pm on Monday, Sadhu began to quarrel with Manjunath on this issue for the umpteenth time. When the quarrel escalated, he picked up a wooden cudgel and hit the head and other parts of his elder brother. Manjunath, who suffered critical injuries in this attack, fell unconscious.

A local , Sundar Mogera, who learnt about the incident, admitted Manjunath Mogera into the district government hospital in the town. The doctors could not save him.

On the basis of complaint filed by Sundar Mogera, Sadhu Mogera was arrested by Hiriyadka police, who are investigating the case.

Now with whoom he will fight in jail?Sad,without working ,fighting for land.Wish their parents had settled it before the father died.Such fights between the Brothers was already we know from olden days.Kain killed his brother in Old Testament.many times it happens because of Piece land.Always stay seperate when grown up ,see you earn own and respect elder brother or sister then will be no fights .May his Soul rest in peace.Poor mother had to see all this.Heartfelt sympathy to her.Other side elder brother also could have given his share instead of fights and put him out when not earning.Everything turned out so sad.

I remember one of our beloved neighbours always had fight with my Grand Father regarding one piece of land ownership….. Instead of having gruesome fighting with our neighbour, my Grand Father always advised them go & do the survey….if it shows yours…then take it…. Then there was a question regarding who will call the surveyor and pays their charges???? Both my Grand Father and that particular neighbour person died long ago but now no fighting at all!!!! And that piece of land still in our position…. He always advised us don’t fight for “Honnu, Mannu & Ponnu” and it is true and proved again and again in modern days of life too

Always try to accumulate wealth in right manner. Otherwise it will highlight in next generation people and cause one or other problems.
People won't ever think actual reason behind it.
