Mangaluru: MCC- MRPL initiative- Vigilance Awareness Week starts in city

Mangaluru, Oct 2: Mayor of the Mangaluru City Corporation (MCC) K Harinath inaugurated the Vigilance Awareness Week organised in association with the Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemicals Limited (MRPL) as per guidance of central vigilance commission in the MCC building on Wednesday, November 2.

The mayor was given the e-certificate of registration for the e-pledge on the occasion. He later handed it over it to the director of MRPL H Kumar.

Speaking on the occasion mayor called everyone to be vigilant and reduce the menace of corruption. "All of us are aware of the corruption in our country. It has grown and spread to every sector. From the low level workers to the higher officials, it is found everywhere. All of us know that there is no scope for development in the presence of corruption. Hence let us all come together and pledge our good work to reduce corruption."

The pledge of e-integrity and anti-corruption was advocated to all the present including the employees of MCC by corporator Radhakrishna.

Chief Vigilance Officer Ravindranath, Director of MRPL refinery Prasad, MCC Commissioner Nazeer, Joint-Commissioner Gokuldas Nayak and others were present at the occasion.

The vigilance week will be observed till November 5 from today.
